Projects

Projects organize your SEO work around a domain. Track keywords, save screenshots, run competitor comparisons, and monitor rankings — all scoped to a project.

A project in SERP Lens represents a website you're working on. It groups your keywords, screenshots, competitor domains, and ranking data together so everything stays organized.

What's in a project

Each project has:

  • Domain — the root domain you're tracking (e.g. acme.com). All subdomains are included automatically.
  • Competitor domains — up to 10 competitor domains for ranking comparisons.
  • Project goal (optional) — a description of what you're trying to achieve (e.g. "Improve rankings for 'gifting' queries").
  • Keywords — tracked search terms with their rankings, devices, and locations.
  • Screenshots — captured and annotated screenshots saved to this project.
  • Project image — a custom image or auto-fetched favicon for easy identification.

Creating a project

  1. Open the Projects view

    Click Projects in the sidebar to see your team's projects.

  2. Click New project

    Click the New project button to open the creation form.

  3. Fill in the details

    • Project name (required) — a label like "Acme Corp" or "Client: BigCo" - Domain (required) — the root domain (e.g. domain.com) - Project goal (optional) — describe what you're optimizing for - Competitor domains (optional) — add up to 10 competitors - Image — upload a custom image or click Fetch favicon to pull the site's icon automatically

  4. Save

    Click Create to save the project. It appears in your project list immediately.

Tip

Enter just the root domain without www. or https://. SERP Lens tracks all subdomains under that root automatically.

Managing projects

Editing a project

Open a project and click the settings icon to edit its name, domain, goal, competitors, or image.

Favorites

Star projects to pin them to the left sidebar for quick access from anywhere in the app. Favorites persist across sessions.

Sorting

Sort your project list by:

  • Name — alphabetical
  • Date created — newest or oldest first
  • Last visited — most recently accessed first

Deleting projects

Select one or more projects and use the bulk delete action. Deleting a project removes its keywords and screenshots permanently.

Warning

Deleting a project cannot be undone. All keywords, ranking history, and screenshots associated with the project are permanently removed.

Project limits

The number of projects you can create depends on your team's subscription plan. When you reach your limit, you'll need to upgrade or delete existing projects to create new ones.

You can check your current project count and limit in the in-app billing area.
